[News] Jae-Bum calls Korea Gay

On 4th September 2009, news articles in Korean websites have revealed Park Jaebeom's dislike for Korea and the Korean people. During his years as a trainee at JYP Entertainment, Jaebeom posted negative comments about Korea and degraded the Korean people on his MySpace page.

Jae-Bum's past comments was met with outrage as many Korean netizens replied with heated negative comments. He was also criticised for his handling of the situation, as he continued to perform at a concert in Incheon following the incident.

One of the most popular responses in Korean news was netizens is rating him as Yoo Seung-Joon's successor. Yoo Seung-Joon was a former popular idol star who was criticized by applying for American citizenship when he was due to serve his military services. Other popular replies refer him as another American who came to take advantage and make profits; and how Korean-Americans feel about Koreans.

Nevertheless, the outrage and anger from the netizens was too much for Jaebeom to handle. While JYP Entertainment CEO Park Jin-Young tried his best to calm the situation down, there seems to be no sympathy from Korean netizens as they demanded him to leave the group permantly.

On September 8th 2009, Jaebeom released an official statement of apology in the band's official fan club cafe the "HOTTEST". In his apology, he stated that he will leaving the group, apologized to his fans for letting them down, and his band mates for not being a good example as both an older brother and leader.
